How Courteous A Driver Are You?

never knowing that they may be elderly or infirmed people.
i also however try to let others in when there's a road crew ahead and everyone has to pull to one side to get by.

How many here have been Df'd for celebrating holidays ?
by troubled mind ini was talking to an old friend last night that told me she was recently df'd for celebrating holidays .
she refused their efforts to meet with them so they just made the decision on their own !
she has been inactive almost a year and has refused to meet or talk at the door with any elder this whole time .

She has been inactive almost a year and has refused to meet or talk at the door with any Elder this whole time . I don't know what evidence they had against her ,but it just seems so petty to me for them to do this .
The holiday issue was what they started after me with too. I guess when they have nothing more to hang on you ......
My friend has children and grandchildren that are not Witnesses and she naturally wants to share in their special occasions . How stupid for a religion to say that is wrong ,and an offense so horrible you need to be ostrisized from the rest of your JW family by dfing...... jerks

very scary .... his levels of enzymes should have been 180 ,but were 4,500 .
all the tests xrays , ulta sound and mri showed no gallstones or blockages just one mother of an inflamned pancreas .

Nugget .....I am going to make sure Monday his Dr realizes the building my son works in was affected by flood waters last year . I know my son mentioned to him and the ER doctors that several work mates all had similar symptoms as his ,but we had not thought about the flood . I think that is what has been nagging my mind .
I just read some information about diseases caused by flooding . Some of the bacteria and viruses can lay silent for months before making you very ill .

One other thing on my mind is that he has had gastro-type problems for several months now . Our family Doctor just retired (someone I had complete trust in ) The new Dr has not run any tests but has told him he thought he had a hiatal hernia and was giving him Prilosic to see if his symptoms improved . When this episode began the new Dr was on vacation so we were passed on to who ever was on call ....thank goodness the ER drs are vigilant . But still I feel a little lost w/o established history with his new Dr ......what if he is just not good ,I don't want my sons health to suffer because the new guy can't think beyond the box .....if you know what I mean ?

Exwhyzee.......I am so sorry to hear how your son was treated by family ,just makes me sad . I can not imagine ever treating one of my children like that, and I was born and raised a JW in for 44yrs . One thing I always knew even as a Witness was that I would never abandon any of my children for any reason .
Wasblind .....No my son has not been out of the country . However something keeps eating at the back of our minds .....He started a new job last year .Last spring the building he works in was flooded after heavy rains flooded the local Creek . Ever since then several guys in the same shop as him have had gastro-intestional problems. We have wondered if something from the flood waters got into the ventilation system there plus some of those guys helped with cleanup after the flood .
My son does not have the typical lifestyle that Drs see with pancreatitis . He doesn't drink alcohol ,no smoking ,is normal weight and eats fairly healthy for a young single guy .
Being the Mom that I am I worry way far over board . With this I am scared because type 1 diabetes is in my family history and now his pancreas is involved so I immediately am worried about that ....So yeah I am stressed out and have not slept well for a while .
His pain had subsided before they tried giving him food . Right away he felt discomfort upon eating so they restricted him back to a liquid only diet until Monday and after he sees his DR.
Thank you for all the well wishes and concern it really does make me feel better reading them . It is a sinking feeling to know strangers have more empathy than our own flesh and blood ...but many of you are well aware .

Severe abdominal pain turned out to be Pancreatitis ! Very scary .... His levels of enzymes should have been 180 ,but were 4,500 . All the tests xrays , ulta sound and MRI showed no gallstones or blockages just one mother of an inflamned pancreas . They are guessing it was caused by a virus . His levels are still very high even after massive IV pushes , but they did let him go home tonight . Still on a liquid diet until he sees Dr on Monday and more blood tests .
I had called his JW grandmother for advice before we went to the ER (she is a nurse ) The next day I called and left a recorded message to tell her what he had.......but have not had one return phone call or call to show concern for his well being .....I am so disgusted by her lack of natural affection .

So angry with myself right now....
by Reality79 inearlier today i was at a local tyre shop standing outside getting a couple of my wheels replaced when this 'sister' who i haven't seen for a number of years decided to approach me.
i didn't even recognise her at first because her hairstyle was different and she was wearing these oversized shades, but this is someone who was always funny with me from day one and hardly ever said a word to me even when i used to be in her book study group that was in her home back in the 90s.. anyway, she asked if it was me and then she said who she was in case i didn't remember.
she told me she saw my sister at the memorial last night (my sister who is inactive wasn't even going to attend that particular memorial, but because this f**king elder i used to hate called her out of the blue to "encourage" her to attend, she went along) blah blah blah but didn't get to speak to her for too long.. so she asked me what congregation i go to but then quickly asked if i'm still in the "truth".
